Origin Day 24th November 2009

Darwin, 'The Origin' and the future of biology

at the Royal Institution of Great Britain

24th November 2009, 9.00-11.30am

The British Council in collaboration with The Charles Darwin Trust brought another debate to the Talking without Borders series to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the publication of one of the most groundbreaking works of all time: Charles Darwin's On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection. The event brought together a panel of leading figures from the field of evolutionary science and beyond, to look at 'global Darwinism', assessing the impact of Darwin's big idea and exploring how his theory has embedded itself in the public consciousness to form the basis for our modern understanding of life.
