Launch of the UK partnership for the International Year of Biodiversity 2010

at the Natural History Museum

on 25th November 2009

The UK partnership for the International Year of Biodiversity 2010 was launched at the Natural History Museum on 25th November 2009. The United Nations declared 2010 as International Year of Biodiversity (IYB). The initiative has three objectives: to remove the perception that people are disconnected from biodiversity; to raise awareness of the threats to biodiversity and the benefits of safeguarding it; and to promote a sense of urgency to halt the loss of biodiversity, and encourage people to act now.

There will be numerous events planned around the slogan of Biodiversity is Life.

The Charles Darwin Trust is a founder partner in the UK IYB Partnership.
