Some of our Trustees (from left to right: Sarah Darwin, Karen Goldie-Morrison and Claire Barlow) recently met at the Linnean Society to celebrate that in 2025 there was the landmark announcement that the Charles Darwin Archive has been inscribed onto the UNESCO International Memory of the World Register.
This recognition elevates Darwin’s documentary heritage, including over 20,000 items, to the same global status as the Domesday Book and the Magna Carta. This milestone ensures that Darwin’s scientific and cultural legacy, held across a partnership of UK institutions, is preserved and accessible for generations to come.
